Private Tour: Wine Tasting Experience

This trip is devoted to wine tasting, but it's also a historical tour that explores the craft and tradition of Minoan pottery. explore the village of Myrtia, where N. Kazantzakis was born, and then have a guided tour of two vineyards where you may taste nine wines in all, explore the production area, and see the cellars.

We arrive to the settlement of Thrapsano first. Thrapsano's long history of producing handcrafted pottery is highlighted by its designation as "The village of the potters" in 16th-century government documents. In Thrapsanos, the "Minoan Pottery" studio still produces pottery and ceramics today, adhering to ancient standards and techniques, hand movements, tools, and the apprenticeship relationship between the original potters and their apprentices. They don't alter the quality of our pottery; even if they do utilize contemporary tools, it's just to keep the manufacturing line moving quickly.

Our second destination, the village of Myrtia, is reached at midday. a little, traditional Cretan village that features striking displays of the style's architecture. In addition, Nikos Kazantzakis was born in Myrtia, which is home to a museum honoring the well-known Cretan author. Along with copies of Kazantzakis' works, it features artifacts and personal things related to his life and work.

You can eat at neighborhood tavernas beneath the massive, centuries-old trees in the village square, and as you stroll through the village's winding lanes, you'll see local Cretan men sipping coffee in the traditional "kafeneio," which is only open to men.

We will be tasting wine at our next destination. We will go to two of the most prestigious, well-equipped, and modern wineries in Europe, where we will have the chance to sample a total of nine different wines. Visitors will experience the stunning multimedia exhibition that has earned significant awards in international competitions, as well as a guided tour of the basement.
