Hike to the History of Poseidon Temple

Our hike through the Askeli area takes you along a beautiful, traditional path that leads to the awe-inspiring Temple of Poseidon and the ancient harbor of Kalavria. As we venture through a dense pine forest, you’ll immerse yourself in the island’s natural beauty, walking along the same trails once used by the island’s ancient inhabitants.
We’ll pass through peaceful groves of olive trees, where the presence of the ancient Temple of Poseidon still lingers, offering panoramic views of the Bay of Vayionia. This was once a crucial spot where Athenian ships would connect with the ancient harbor of Poros in Kalavria. After soaking in the atmosphere, we’ll take a break, allowing time for our guests to explore the archaeological site at their own pace.
Afterward, we’ll continue our journey, descending along another traditional path that leads us past the Church of Panagia, before arriving at the historic refugee settlement of Poros, known as Synoikismos. It’s a truly immersive experience, where nature and history blend seamlessly.
