Tour Description
First you will visit Oia northwest of Santorini – a true jewel of the island. This village of the famous Caldera unravels all the majestic scenery of the island with its charming atmosphere, traditional local architecture and outstanding views.
Next stop is Firostefani, where the famous Blue Domed Church is located – the iconic church that has adorned the cover of so many guidebooks of the island.
Continue to the Monastery of Prophet Ilias, which is a must-see for any visitor of Santorini. At the highest point of the island, 2.000 feet (600 meters) above sea level, this Monastery has been characterized as a place of great historical significance, comprising churches, chapels, a bell tower and a wealth of numerous religious goods from the 18th century.
Explore Megalochori, which has been characterized as one of the most picturesque and traditional villages of Santorini. The mansions and restored houses of vernacular architecture, the high walls and the pirate hideaways are the highlights of this preserved old settlement.
At this point of our tour we will spend a few minutes at the famous Black Beach of Perivolos, which is the largest beach of Santorini and is covered with black volcanic pebbles, and enjoy the spectacular views of the Aegean Sea and the nearby islands.
