Meet your guide at Piraeus pier and head to the heart of Athens. First stop is at the impressive Panathinaiko Stadium, cradle of the first modern Olympic games, which took place in 1896. Continue passing by some of the most significant parts of the city, such as the Greek Parliament with the monument to the Unknown soldier where you will see the fanciful Evzoni Guards in their amber tunics, the Zappion Conference Center, the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's Arc, the handsome Numismatic Museum at Schlieman's House, the Catholic Cathedral of Agios Dionysios Aeropagitis and the Constitution Square.

Next is the sight that's sure to be a highlight of any visitor's list: the breathtaking Acropolis. Climb up to the Acropolis and visit Parthenon, the monumental marble gates of the Propylaia, the Temple of Athena Nike and the famous Porch of Maidens at the temple of Erechtheion. Explore the site at your own pace and enjoy unique panoramic views.

After your Acropolis visit, enjoy free time in the old district of Plaka, full of traditional restaurants and shops, before your return to the port in time to re-board your cruise ship.
